I arrived in Paris in the early afternoon so decided to dump my bags and head straight out to the expo as I’d heard it got very crowded in the Saturday. The metro took me straight to the expo at the Parc des Expositions (metro stop=Porte de Versailles). It was relatively empty inside but there were crowds building outside slowed by the Covid checks. The expo itself was “okay”. There were games to get involved in (such as throwing empty plastic bottles into a basketball net) and the usual overload of stalls selling gels and even more promoting French marathons. But it was enough and I felt smug getting back to the hotel with everything I needed for marathon day.
You will need your passport and race acceptance confirmation to pick up your race number.
With a whole day free and glorious weather, I knew I had to be careful not to overdo it on the Saturday. It’s super tempting to spend the day wandering around the streets of Paris, racking up the miles then regretting the tired legs on Sunday morning. I’ve been to Paris many times so I was satisfied with just a little sightseeing but you could always book a boat cruise along the river Seine or take a bus tour.
Girls on tour!
